Great Lakes Aquarium is in the Bayfront area of Duluth at 353 Harbor Drive, just off exit 256-B on I-35. Much more than just an aquarium, this discovery center explores Lake Superior, its surrounding habitats and the creatures that inhabit its ecosystem. Visitors experience the geologic forces that shaped Lake Superior, watch as divers feed the fish in a massive, two-story tank, raise and lower locks on a scale model of the Great Lakes, pilot a virtual ore boat under the Aerial Lift Bridge and pet baby sturgeon and freshwater stingrays. There are dozens of interactive exhibits that will intrigue adult visitors and keep children entertained. Twenty different tanks and exhibits showcase over 70 different species of fish, birds, and otters. Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of the aquarium’s superb views of the Aerial Lift Bridge as freighters from around the world pass under its famous span. Special rates offered for groups of 10 or more, birthday parties, wedding receptions, family reunions, corporate events and more!
